Orr Adams, Jr. practices primarily in the areas of estate planning and succession administration, including planning for diminished capacity with financial and medical powers of attorney, living wills, and other advance directives, planning for the transfer of assets, including donations, trusts, and wills, and succession administration, including probate and related litigation.
Mr. Adams’ practice has involved a broad spectrum of matters, including the estate planning and administration matters listed above, and will contests, succession litigation, real estate transactions, insurance litigation, and class/mass actions.
Mr. Adams joined Perez, McDaniel, Faust & Adams, LLP as a partner in 2015. He previously was a partner of the firm of Wegmann & Adams, LLC.
Mr. Adams is a Board Certified Estate Planning and Administration Specialist, Certified by the Louisiana State Board of Legal Specialization. He is a member of the Louisiana State Bar Association and the New Orleans Estate Planning Council.
Mr. Adams was appointed by the Louisiana Attorney Disciplinary Board as a hearing committee member to conduct hearings into formal charges of misconduct against attorneys. Mr. Adams received an “AV” rating from his peers through Martindale & Hubbell.
Mr. Adams was born in New Orleans. He received a Bachelor of Arts degree with a major in Philosophy in 1982 from the University of New Orleans, and his law degree in 1986 from Tulane Law School.
Mr. Adams is a longtime volunteer at WRBH, the radio station for the blind and print handicapped. He has created, produced, and was the voice of Going Green, a show focused on environmental issues. He also created, produced, and is currently the voice of Grey Matters, a show focused on elder affairs. Mr. Adams volunteered at the Audubon Aquarium for several years as a SCUBA diver in the Caribbean and Gulf Exhibits. He has been married to Margaret S. Adams for thirty-two years and they have two children, Tucker O. Adams and Connor O. Adams.
