Donald H. McDaniel was born in Washington, D.C. He received a bachelor of science degree in 1971 from Louisiana State University and a Juris Doctor in 1973 from the University of Mississippi. He was admitted to the Mississippi Bar in 1973 and to the Louisiana and U.S. Tax Court Bars in 1979.
From 1974 to 1976 Mr. McDaniel served as Attorney, and from 1976 to 1977 as a Tax Law Specialist in the National Office of the Internal Revenue Service.
Presently, Mr. McDaniel is a member of the Louisiana State Bar (of which he is a member of the Section of Taxation and is Former Chairman of the Trust, Estates, Probate and Immovable Property Law Section), American Bar (of which he was a member of the Sections of Taxation and Real Property, Probate and Trust Law), and Mississippi State Bar Associations (Inactive).
Mr. Donald McDaniel was formerly certified by the Louisiana Board of Legal Specialization both as a Board-Certified Tax Law Specialist and a Specialist in Estate Planning and Administration. He is also co-author of a book for lawyers and other estate planning professionals titled Estate Planning in Louisiana published by Lawyer's Cooperative Publishing Company (1991) and is a frequent speaker on tax and estate planning. Since 1995 Mr. McDaniel has been recognized by inclusion in The Best Lawyers (Taxation) in America, Super Lawyers, and Who's Who in American Law.
Mr. McDaniel is a partner of Perez, McDaniel, Faust & Adams LLP, and practices in its Metairie, Louisiana office.
